A table-top particle physics program to probe the electron's electric dipole moment with cold molecules

First phase of our program completed

We have summarized the statistics and systematics of a first dataset of BaF eEDM data, hereby completing phase 1 of our NL-eEDM project. In this version of the experiment, we use a supersonic beam of BaF molecules and extract important information on the statistics and systematics of electron EDM searches with BaF. We show that all elements of the EDM experiment are implemented and working very well. More details can be found in the manuscript, which is already available on the preprint ArXiv. With this part of our experiment completed, we now move on the implement a much slower, colder and intense molecular beam, which will lead to an increased statistical sensitivity. In our manuscript we also present the projected sensitivity of this second phase of our research program.
